Who we are
The Schott Classic is a community wiffle ball tournament hosted by St. Antoninus Athletic Club, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This policy covers schottclassic.com and its subdomains. The site is intended for visitors in the United States; visitors outside the U.S. are redirected to a notice page and cannot use the site.
What we collect, and why
We try to collect the minimum needed to run the tournament site and understand which pages help teams register.
- Account information. When you register a team or create an account, we collect your name, email, phone, division, and team roster details so we can contact you about the event.
- Payment information. Tournament payments are processed by Square. We never see or store your full card number; we only retain the order ID, the amount, and the email Square confirms.
- Site analytics. We record which pages are visited, how long, and where the visit came from (referring site). See "Tracking technologies" below for the specifics.
- Email events. When we send you transactional email (registration confirmation, payment receipt, magic-link sign-in), our email provider (Resend) reports back delivery, open, and click events so we can troubleshoot delivery problems.
Tracking technologies
On first visit you see a banner asking whether to enable tracking. If you choose Reject, none of the technologies below load on your device for the rest of that browser session and future visits, until you clear site data.
- PostHog (analytics). Records page views and a small set of product events (registration started/completed, sponsor inquiry sent, graphic downloaded). We use it to count traffic and find broken funnels. Profiles are only created for identified, signed-in users. Routed through our own domain so ad blockers don’t treat it as a third-party tracker, but it is still operated by PostHog, Inc., on US servers.
- FingerprintJS (visitor ID). Generates a stable per-device identifier from public browser characteristics (screen size, time zone, available fonts) so our own page-view counts can deduplicate without requiring login. The ID is stored in your browser’s localStorage under
sc_vid. We never share it with anyone outside St. Antoninus Athletic Club. - First-party page_views log. Each page request sends a beacon to our own server that records: visitor ID, session ID, path visited, referring host, browser family, country (from CDN header), and whether you were signed in as an admin. No URL parameters are kept. Retained for 90 days.
- Google Analytics. Aggregate audience reporting only — bounce rate, traffic sources, device categories. IP anonymization is enabled.
- Cookies. We use a session cookie for sign-in (HTTP-only, expires when you sign out), a small
sc_consentlocalStorage entry to remember your tracking choice, and the tracking cookies set by PostHog and Google Analytics if you accepted.
Service providers we share data with
- Square — payment processing for registration fees and merchandise.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (confirmations, password resets, magic links).
- PostHog & Google Analytics — site analytics, only after you consent.
- Replit — application hosting on Google Cloud Run.
- Neon — managed PostgreSQL database.
- Sentry — error tracking for site reliability.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks.
California residents
California residents have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to know what personal information we hold, request a copy, ask us to delete it, and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of the other rights, email schottclassic@gmail.com.
Data deletion and updates
To request deletion or correction of your data, email schottclassic@gmail.com from the address on file. We respond within 30 days. We’ll retain the minimum needed to honor existing tournament commitments (e.g., a team you already registered) and meet accounting and tax obligations.
To clear analytics tracking on your device, open the privacy banner again by clearing this site’s storage in your browser settings; the banner will reappear on your next visit.
Children
We register youth players for the Junior Schott Classic. Registrations for participants under 13 must be completed by a parent or legal guardian; we do not knowingly accept account sign-ups directly from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We will post material updates at this URL with a new “Last updated” date and re-prompt for consent the next time you visit.
